faint line on pregnancy test? Posted: 04-16-08 18:19pm
ok so here I am again..paranoid as ever.
Never had sex with my boyfriend just
fooled around and have been paranoid that
I'm pregnant even though I got my period
(although it was lighter) I took a
pregnancy test today (EPT) and Im pretty
sure I followed the directions and it was
negative, although the negative was a
lighter color in the circle box than in
the square one. I kept going back to check
it for awhile, still negative. This was in
the morning..and then I went to work and
came back at about 5 today and looked at
it again just because I was curious and
there was a VERY VERY faint line
indicating a positive. Could this be an
evaporation line??? this is the last thing
I need...I'm already paranoid enough!!

Yes, it was an evaporation line.
Blue dye tests (like EPT) are extremely
bad for evaporation lines. However, most
test will develop a light line if you give
them that long.
Tests are not meant to be read after 10
minutes. Your test was negative, you are
not pregnant.

I agree; you are most likely not pregnant.
However, if you would like to ease your
mind you could always buy another test to
take and make sure to throw it away after
ten minutes are up so there will be no
misreading.
