My mom (who also happens to have Crohns disease) has had blurred/foggy vision in her right eye starting on christmas eve. She told me that her eye was feeling weird and that it was really hard to see out of it. She went on with the holidays and just got back from a trip my dad and her took for new years. She went to the eye doctors today and when she came back she said that the doctor had told her she had an eye stroke which caused a tear in the optic nerve I beleive. Now I am one to worry alot about my mother having seen her suffer through so much ever since I was a child. And I tried to do some research on eye strokes and I am beginning to think that my mom just lied to me so I wouldnt worry and I think she may have had a real stroke. So my main question is, is there really such thing as an Eye Stroke? and will my mom be okay?

Eye Stroke
Yes, there is such a thing. I had one on Feb. 9, 2009
Same symptoms, it really surprised me. No pain just lost vision to the central portion of my left eye. By the way, it's permanant. Just have to make sure you are on anti-clotting meds.
It's scary but at this stage not fatal. Now if I throw a clot to the brain all bets are off.
