This past Sunday I had a sudden onset of pain in my right eye (no redness, no swelling), which very fast turned into horrendous pain when moving my eyes, then inability to stand light, then [pain everywhere in the right side of my face headache. I can honestly say it#s been the worst pain I have ever suffered (and I went through natural childbirth, some serious toothaches, plus kidney infection.. and, at 50, it was the first time I cried and sobbed with pain. I was seen by an OPHTLMOLOGIST (after the GP and optician could find no explanation), who diagnosed EPISCLERITIS, for which he gave me Mexidex eye-drops. The pain stated to ease after a few hours, and now, only on the third day of using the drops I am almost "as good as new". I hope this helps. All the best!
