Hello,
I am 18 years old and I live in Newfoundland, Canada. For the past 4-6 years I have had a very severe case of eye floaters. It has come to my attention that many experience eye floaters as little dots, or as rectangles, but the only way to really explain what I see is as long rectangles with little ball joints connecting them. I have many floaters, I can constantly see them (it has been lke this for a while) at any given time while looking straight I can see perhaps 20-25 eye floaters. Some of these go in and out of vision when I turn my eyes, but this likelyhood is very small as the length of these eye floaters span about 50% of the horizontal field of view (if I had to put a measure to it, they woulud be 8 inches long, but this is subjective). I am not too worried about them other than the fact that they are a huge distraction.
The part I am worried aobut are the flashes of light I sometimes experience because I am worried I may have PVD (Posterior vitreous detachment for those who are just looking into the issue). I am worried that these flashes that I am seeing are the same that other's report seeing and are one of the symptoms of PVD. I do not se elightning strikes, but I do often see what can only be describe as a little "pixel" of unatturally vibrant light. After waiting for these to reoccur, I studied the pixel of light a little more and notticed it is surrounded by black pixels.
I am just worried that the flashes of light that I see are the same as the ones associated with PVD; that is, small concentrated bursts of vibrant light that fade.
any insight would be great.
