My 7 yr old son has swollen lymph nodes on the right side of his neck behind the ear and it goes down his neck about 2 1/2 inches. It is HUGE! I have never seen any lymph nodes this large before. The Dr gave him an antibiotic and said that the gland itself was probably infected. They also did blood work and it was all normal. I am ok with the blood work all being normal but, the glands just swelled yesterday that I noticed and may be it is too early to tell if anything is wrong. He has no signs of being sick. His throat was not red nor sore, ears are fine, and he says he feels fine. They glands don't hurt and they are hard and don't move at all.
I just wonder if he is ok or if something might really be wrong that a pediatrician in a small town may miss. Please let me know if there is anything with what I have said that you may have an answer to.
Thanks!
