I started using Prevident almost a week ago, and several days in my teeth started becoming EXTREMELY sensitive... even things that would never have bothered them before, like salad greens, make them hurt a LOT now. I do have sensitive teeth, but I always brush with a sensitivity toothpaste, and before Prevident I never had sensitivity pain as extreme as this.

My question is: Is there anything topical that I can buy that will provide immediate relief of sensitivity pain? I can take ibuprofen, of course, but it would be much easier on my stomach if I could use something else to stop the pain.

(PS: I see my dentist soon, so no worries!)

Oralgel is the best bet I'd say (infant, regular strength or over night). I have a young child, so I have baby oralgel in my medicine cabinet and i find it works wonders for my teeth too. I have overly sensitive teeth as well.

pregnancy
I used prevident the first 11 weeks I was pregnant. Used once per day then realized this is an rx and I had to stop! Can I do anything to prevent possible damage to the baby?? Did I do damage??

Hmmm, I don't know. I've never even heard of Prevident before. Take folic acid adn prenatals. Ask your doctor to schedule an ultrasound and blood work to check you if you are worried about the baby. Best of luck.
