Hi, I've been taking the birth control Kariva for around 6 months now and have experienced extreme moodiness on the "blue" (the pills where menstruation occurs) pills ever since I've been taking it. I have done a little bit of research, and have found that moodiness has cleared up for most people after the first few months, and that Kariva makes the switch from active to nonactive pills easier than alternative brands. The moodiness is extremely disruptive (I snap at everyone and cry for no reason) and I was wondering if perhaps this problem would improve if I switched brands. I'm very, very happy with Kariva (except for this one problem), and I'm hesitant to switch in fear that other brands may result in weight gain or worse moodiness. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If its affecting your life then I would suggest switching. Birth control is supposed to be a positive thing!

Weight gain shouldn't be an issue with any hormonal birth control as long as you watch your diet and exercise.

Talk to your birth control provider. Most times its just a really quick and easy switch.
