I'm wondering if an extrauterine pregnancy would be able to be seen in a non-OB pelvic ultrasound, or if they'd specifically have to be looking for one...or possibly having to be looking higher?

I would assume so. When you are at the ultrasound appointment ask them to look and ask them to look higher
they will take a look, they may not give you an answer
if they did or did not find anything but they will right
it into the report to your doctor or you can ask your doctor call over tot he ultra sound office and ask them to take a look for it. I found out I was having twins at 5 1/2 weeks and it was a normal ultrasound not a fetal assment which is the more in depth ultrasound they use to
messure the baby, uterus, the fluid inside the womb and such.

Ultrasound was done last Wed and I told them this, but they said that they "weren't looking that high"...that the doctor had ordered a pelvic US. So, even though the abdominal pain isn't specific, and I was having sensations under/near my rib cage, they wouldn't look to see if it might be a gall bladder issue either. I hope I don't have serious issues before they get this figured out.

By the way...Congrats taykare! Smile

Are the babies in your uterus where they should be? They'd be looking for a baby on a different place on me...and since it's such a rare thing having an abdominal pregnancy (extrauterine vs intrauterine), I'm assuming that's why they didn't take the time looking on me when my uterus appeared empty. Endometrial lining was 9mm though... Don't know what that means.

The endometrial lining 9mm means the lining of your uterus is thickening and this is called adnomyosis which is the opposite of endometriosis. They only way to fix it is a hysterectomy. I had to have one in November of 2007. After the operation which was almost 5 hours my uterus weighted 30lbs and they had to remove my right ovary as well because it 14 cysts on it (they originally thought the cysts on my ovary were spots of cancer) I had endometriosis as well they had to scape my intestine, bladder and pull my uterus off my bladder just to finish. Do you have lots of pain? Is your uterus tilted? Mine was. Well you can contact me when ever you want by this post or PM me. I lived with abdominal for 20 years plus. I have also already had my
gallbladder out.
Let me know what happens. If you have any questions please contact me I really do not mind.

Wow! You've been through a lot. Bless your heart.

Yes...I believe my uterus is tilted back a bit. I didn't have lots of pain until JUST recently (past 2 months). I've gained 12 lbs within that amount of time. Had been consistant before then. Now my lower back is killing me. Comes and goes...depending on how long I sit or stand.

Ultrasound done last week shows multiple nabothian cysts in my cervix and a hypoechoic lesion of my left ovary. My GYN says everything is "normal." However, an oncologist told us I needed to get a second opinion, and possibly a biopsy. Scary stuff!

Did you gain a lot of unexplainable weight before your uterus was removed? Thanks for sharing!
