Hi
I met this guy who is hiv . While doing some work I cut my index finger. The cut was small and the bleeding stopped in about 2 mins. 10 mins after that I went to the bathroom and washed my cut. 15 minutes prior to that, that person had used the bathroom. He may have masturbated, also he had a bleeding cut on his hand.
I used the same soap for washing my fresh cut.

I forgot to clean the soap before washing my cut with it. Also I forgot to check whether there were any blood stains on the soap or some other substance. I just remember that it was unclean and used. Also the soap had a burning sensation on the cut, which indicates that the cut was quite fresh. I am very worried, and in need of help.

hmmm
From what I know the HIV virus does not survivie well outside of its host. The virus dies within minutes. I have been told 1-4 minutes. But. the cdc will say that there is no definate time line, but they test with LARGE amounts of blood. You would probably have had to come into direct contact with your cut and his. Like blood brothers u know. Im extremely ocd about HIV so I know how you feel your prob. freaking out because whenever I am around blood ANYONES I flip. Call 1800cdcinfo and they can help you. Also, if you go to the body.com you can find and HIV and STD hotline for your state most likely. I hope this helps. Smile

Hi Meg1985,
Thanks a lot for the reply. I am also worried because I do not remember exactly after how much time, I used the soap. 15 minutes is just a guess, it may have been 5 minutes and the cut was quite fresh.

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) may be spread by the following:

* Intimate sexual contact
* The use of contaminated needles and syringes
* Contaminated blood transfusions and blood products

Thats it...
