Q: Explain your username
asked by: Lion79 on August 10th, 2008

Tell me what your username means/stands for. Is it just your name? A nickname?

Mine is Lion, cuz I like lions and the word itself sounds strong and domineering. Not that I'm like that of course Wink

This is the first (and only) forum I’ve ever joined and being the technological wiz that I am, I didn’t know much about usernames. I put my own name in and it was already taken. So was my daughter’s. The first person’s name that jumped to mind was a lady I met in the UK a couple of years ago.
She was one of those people who will leave an impression on your being even if you only spent 5 minutes in her company. Her name was Belinda, but it was taken too. So I just deleted the last two letters of her name and added an ‘e’ for some reason.
And of course it took, and now I’m stuck with this ridiculous username! Very Happy

I tried several names and words for my user name when I joined, and they were all taken. After a couple of minutes, I got frustrated and since I was hungry, got up and grabbed a box of cereal.

Guess which one?

When I started chatting online when I was like 14, I used the name Sydney. I had an obsession with Australia, and I enjoyed the movie Scream (main character's name). I did have any number that I was partial to...so, I figured I'd just get generic.

I've been using this name for about 10 years on other forums, and email addresses. I just love this name. Smile

I'm still a fan of Ziggy after all these years and generally Ziggy is taken so I put a twist to his name and made it my own Smile

We just have so much in common...except that I'm not male, bald or oversized...
