for over a month now i have been experiencing chronic thirst, excessive urination and my vision has been starting to blur. upon researching these symptoms i learned that they are indicative of having diabetes. what i'm not sure of is how serious this is. i mean, should i go to the ER? or should i wait it out? i'm not sure what sort of action to take at this point. i am also experiencing the itchy skin and some elevated body temperature as well. i'm 28 years old with no family history of diabetes. this all seems very odd to me.

Run do not walk to a doctor's office. No need to be afraid though as you just need some tests to see if you have diabetes and if you do you have many different options for treating it. Plus the sooner the better because if it's just pre diabetes then you may even be able to prevent diabetes through diet and exercise.

You do have classic diabetic symptoms except I'm not sure of the itchy skin one since I didn't have that. But the rest I have had and do have and I've been diabetic for 20 years. All you need is a few simple blood tests and the doctor may give you a glucose tolerance test in which you drink a sugary drink in order to see how your body handles the sugar.

Waiting and not going to a doctor about this is the worst thing you can do because otherwise you could jeopardize your eyesight and other body functions. Although there is no cure for diabetes there are many controls that allow diabetics to avoid bad complications and live a long and healthy life.
