Hello,

Welcome to the forum and I am glad to help you out.

Engagement is the term used when the baby enters the pelvis to prepare for delivery. This engagement may occur around 36 or 37 weeks for a first-time mother, but may not occur until labor begins for a woman who already has children. This is usually accompanied by pelvic pain due to the effect of the gravid uterus on the uterine ligaments.

It means that labor is near and you should get the status of cervix checked by effacement and dilatation.

Dilatation of the cervix is in cm and effacement in percentage. When you're ready to push your baby out, your cervix will be 10 cm dilated and 100 percent effaced.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
