Yo I am 16 years old and have an umbelical hernia I am a athlete. I like to workout atleast 4 days of the week; well I used to until I had a little pain on the hernia and stopped working out because I was scared. I want/am going to get the surgery soon I don't know when but money is a issue at the moment. I want to know if I can exercise with it, I want to do push ups, sit ups, pull ups and everything, run too. Can I?

Hello Mr.Zamora. An umbilical hernia is a protrusion of the abdominal lining, or a portion of abdominal organ, through the area around the navel.
Umbilical hernias usually happen because of a hole or a weak area in the muscles of the abdominal wall. The cause of pain is because you force yourself when you do push-ups/sit-ups the area where the hernia is is too weak and it hurts. What you need to do is get yourself a surgery. I would advise to not do any type of exercise until you get that surgery.
Usually doctors do genital and/or prostate exams to make sure you are fine. On some occasions your genitals have to be removed because you worked out while having the hernia. So I suggest not working out while having the hernia.

I'm basically 100% sure that your hernia is bad, all hernias are bad. But like i said if you keep working out and forcing your muscles, then there are going to be some consequences. If I were you I would not work out unless you don't plan on having children. Just take it easy wait get a job or something, then get the surgery then you can begin to do some heavy exercising.
