So, the last time that I had sex was about a week after I finished my last period. The guy used a condom, and I know for a fact that it didn't break or anything like that. But I also know how I am, and am rather paranoid about the entire thing since I'm 22 and still live at home with my parents, and they don't know that I've had sex before, and all I can think about is the worst case scenario. My period comes about every 4 weeks, and either comes on the day of the month of my last one, or the day of the week. Today, Tuesday June 16, 2009 is the day of the week when I started my last period, and Friday, June 19, 2009 is the day of the month of my last period which started on May 19, 2009.

I normally get nervous a few days before my period anyways since my cramps on the first day are so bad, and I always anticipate them to be worse than what they normally are. I know I'm probably fine, but hearing it from someone else will probably calm my nerves a lot more than me just telling that to myself over and over again.

I also just started working out for about 45 minutes to an hour 3 or 4 days a week. I've heard that exercise can cause your period to come late. But I was just wondering how late. I'm not planning on having sex again for a while, and by that I'm thinking until I'm married or something along those lines.

Another way that I figure I'm ok, is that I'm getting all of my normal PMS symptoms (Breaking out with bad acne, being irritable, etc.) But if anyone could give me some feedback, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

Its unlikely that exercising the way you are is going to have much of an affect, but it really depends on the person.

I've never been more than 10 days late, but that's probably more a mix of a change in exercise and stress.

Just relax and expect your period normal time-- if its more than a week late, then test.
