Q: Excessive vaginal secretions
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 6th, 2009
I have excessive vaginal secretions. When I say excessive, I mean throughout the day I have discomfort due to wetness. Sex is not pleasurable at all because neither of us can feel anything and we end up in a pool of wetness. I have mentioned this to my dr. and she says "be happy it's not vaginal dryness". I'm not happy. It is embarrassing, my sex life with my husband is terrible, and I'm uncomfortable. I have no infections. I do kegels. Are there any medical procedures or drugs that can help me? I am only 31 and am terrified that the rest of my life will be spent dealing with this issue.

The female lubrication during sexual intercourse is affected by the excitement. So, you might want to avoid foreplay completely.
If there is still too much lubrication then you might want simply to use a towel. Also, try to relax. Too much sensitivity might contribute to this condition.
No data from independent medical studies have been found about procedure or drug that could treat increased vaginal lubrication during intercourse.
