since I was about 13 years old I've had irregular bleeding and have never been checked by a doctor, sometimes the periods get very bad and last for almost a month. I have many small to medium (sometimes large) blood clots coming out. I have always just put up with it because I am very scared of doctors but this period I'm having now is quite bad. I woke up two weeks ago covered in blood with a stain on my bed bigger than a basketball so I went to the bathroom and about 7 or 8 blood clots came out one after the other. I am still currently bleeding, I have no pain or bad cramps, some days it slows down but then picks right back up. I'm not asking for people to tell me to go to a doctor, just some suggestions on what might be wrong if anything... thank you. Smile

The clots happen probably because there is so much blood for so long.

There really are a number of things that could be wrong, you should always see a doctor if you have heavy bleeding over a week.

But because you asked, here are some common causes of heavy menstruation: fibroids, a problem with your ovaries (pcos), medications, or other possible reasons for a hormonal imbalance.

Really, you need to see a doctor.
