Excessive masturbation and permanent ED ? (Page 1)

Must Read
10% of men experience erectile dyfunction. When does a penis become erect? And what is ED? Start here for ED basics....
Can other medical conditions causes erection problems? Here we review the many potential causes of erectile dysfunction. ...
If you can't achieve an erection or control ejaculation, you might have Erectile Dysfunction. But what primary ED symptoms should you look for?...
Please help! I'm 29 years old and have been masturbating frequently for as long as I remember, on average I'm guessing at least once a day sometimes less or more. The only side effect until recently that I noticed was occasionally clear semen, and obviously the more you masturbate in a day the harder it is to do additional times.

I am without a doubt, admittedly, an excessive masturbator. The problem is now I've noticed over the past month or so it has been very difficult to achieve an erection. I've had weak/soft erections on a regular basis. This comes at a bad time as I am now in my first serious relationship, and "had sex" for the first time recently and the first time I wasn't able to penetrate and the second time I was but left little pleasure for me.

Now that I'm in a relationship that will hopefully have sexual activity, I'm finding it a possibility that I'll be unable to perform and I think the stress/depression is making it worse.. I can't have a solid erection during sexual activity or masturbation. Only occasionally in the morning waking up will I have a decent erection, and even then it seems softer/weaker than past. I haven't had a rock hard erection in months.

The concern brought me to the internet to search on the effects of "over-masturbation" and to add to my fears I found pages of sites which said erectile dysfunction and impotenence, as well as weak/soft erections are a definitive consequence of overmasturbation as it effects chemicals in the body.

I'm scared to death now that after 29 years I'm finally having sex and won't be able to enjoy it, or even perform at all.

Is this permanent? If I stop masturbation, which I'm pretty sure I'm capable of doing, for a period of time and then lessen masturbation in the future.. will the chemicals balance themselves out again and I can achieve a firm erection? or is this permanent damage that has been done that will require some kind of drugs?

I'm 29, and have been masturbating for about 13 years. I thank you in advance for your time!

I am in the exact same boat as you. I am 24 years old and am just recently starting to have sex.

I have been masturbating at least once, and sometimes more than once a day for years now.

I have no problem getting hard and maintaining an erection while masterbating, but when I can't get hard enough to penetrate during sex. After a few minutes of trying, it goes way limp, and we just give up. We have been trying almost every other day for a whole month now.

It is extremely frustrating and I am afraid I will lose the girl that I am slowly falling in love with over this terrible problem of mine.

I am going to see a doctor tomorrow to see what he says.

At 74, I masturbate frequently. Sometimes more than once a day.

I recommend you guys keep it up. My wife says she has no libido since her complete hysterectomy in 1997.

I use a lubricant - ID Glide Water Based Personal Lubricant Original Formula. Reapply as needed or reactivate with a few drops of water or saliva.

When I start to masturbate my penis is soft. It likes the attention. I always have an ejaculation.

After I ejaculate, my penis is usually nice and large, but not hard as a rock.

You guys who use a Vacuum Erection Device, tell me about your experiences.

I like to watch erotic videos.

Sex is there for pleasure.

Have fun

It is good that you masturbate at age 74 due to no libido by wife. I am 58 and I still have sex with my wife. But when I get horny and my wife is not home or she is sick I masturbate. My penis needs stimulation when I get a hard-on. I use Astroglide lubricant which makes the penis slippery when I masturbate. Also masturbating in the warm shower with lots of soap suds on my penis makes it slippery. It feels very good to masturbate when you can not have sex. Masturbation keeps the penis in good shape just like exercise keeps the body in good shape.

I've overmasturbated and became exhausted back in february and still have not recovered my libido has completely left me and I can no longer orgasm so if you need reassurance that overmasturbation messes things up then take it from me cause I know. Your recovery depends on how badly you messed up your neurochemicals and endocrine system.

same here
Yeah guys, what you guys are saying is exactly what I've been having too. It started when I was 19. I've been masturbating AT LEAST once per day since I was like.... 12. I first started having sex at 17, and that was fine but I think that was because it was so new it was exciting. But now that it's not as new anymore I'm having the same problems as the other guys here. I can get an erection when masturbating, but when I go to have sex I either go limp or it takes A LOT of concentration and effort to orgasm, which isn't fun. I also haven't had that morning erection in I don't know how long. I'm pretty sure it's the excessive masturbation, and the pornography. I've found that the more I masturbate the harder it is to orgasm during sex. But also, the more I masturbate with porn, the harder it is to masturbate with just my imagination, in tern making sex even less fun. I really hope it doesn't take as long to fix itself as RealityTimes09 suggests. I also am really afraid that maybe I damaged the nerves in the tip of my penis, or caused them to recede. Since the tip of my penis doesn't seem as sensitive as it used to be. That would SUCK!!

To Wontbeusingthisagain: There is topical creams that can be applied that will rejuvenate damaged nerves like the ones that are used to reverse pyronies and if you have some collagen scaring that can be reversed over time. Most penis injuries if they are not too severe can be fully healed in 6 months to a year. As far as erection strength goes good diet, excercise, and abstinance will usually bring you back from the dead as long as you didn't mess up your Thyroid or Adrenals from Overmasturbating. According to Taoist beliefs it takes the body longer to replace semen than it does blood volume so this should be all the more reason not to be careless when it comes to excessive ejaculations. So forget under studied western medical claims that says masturbate all you want because they are dead wrong and are misleading alot of men into health problems.

I am 30 years old and have slept with atleast 100 women. I too have been masterbating since I was 15. I think that the penis becomes accustomed and dependent on masterbation in order to maintain and get an erection. I think that if you stop or slow down masterbation for a certain amount of time the penis will start to gain erections through natural means such as sex with a woman.

The AMA recommends daily masturbation to maintain erectile and reproductive health. If you are experiencing loss of sexual appetite you may want to cut down to masturbating once daily. If you are finding that you still have soft erections or performance difficulties you should try adjusting diet and exercise to improve circulatory health. If this is still not resolving the issue you may want to consult a doctor.

larrymnz79 your difficulty in performing is perfectly normal and perfectly natural. First time sex in your late 20's puts you under tremendous performance anxiety. If you abstain from masturbation for 48 hours prior to being intimacy with this girl you should have all the sexual arousal you're capable of. Beyond that take things as slowly as you need to, don't pressure yourself into having to perform when you're nervous or worried.

There is an ED risk associated with masturbation. If you damage the anchoring ligaments or nervous tissue through traumatic use of your penis it can make it difficult for you to achieve full erection, could make it difficult for you to orgasm or prevent you from attaining erection reliably. To prevent damage use adequate lubrication and avoid positioning your penis in a way that puts strain on your pelvic region while masturbating.

Common sense tells you that the AMA made this rule not knowing what was happening nowadays...How long ago was it made?...Men are ruining themselves...I wonder how many times Wolf can get it up with his wife with his masturbating daily...You cannot tell another man to do what you are not doing with your wife...You are simply quoting an old book...I know what I am talking about....Does Wolf?...How many times is he having sex with his wife in a week?...What is he age category?...You talk about masturbation like mad, but how about your performance in bed with your wife with all your masturbation?...These are facts of life that you should speak of....This is why I tell my story of life and not a fable...

2003. The American Medical Association is pretty good about knowing what is happening nowadays when it comes to the male reproductive anatomy. They do in fact write the book on it. If you'd like to reduce this to personal opinion it would be more polite to tell us how many times a day your penis becomes erect before making demands for my personal information.

These figures are from 2003...Look what has happened on the Internet in the last 6 years...Kids are so wise and into sex before their time that it is shameful...I do not say this with the thought of the human body, but what they are doing to their lives...

The sad part is that the women are suffering...Not the man...He can sit back and have the time of his life...She is the one that runs off to the Therapist because she is in want..She needs his sexual filling..Without it, she hurts....Many men who plan or think dating in their late 50's are frightened to do this...They fear a relationship...They fear impotency and well they should...I can thoroughly appreciate the need for sex by both sexes, but somewhere a big mistake is being made...It is causing much suffering...I found the answer and just try to help the people in this pain of life....

Its not my knowledge, just things I read. If folks are interested UCSF, The Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and JAMA all have websites where you can find reasonably reliable information online about medical consequences of sexual activity.

My problem has not been the medical consequences of the sexual activity that I have taught my husband...Instead it has been the awe that people find in what I have done...I guess this is why I am trying to help on this Forum...Unlike you, I will never have the true inner sexual knowledge of man just as a man will never truly understand me or another woman's sexual self...However, I can read my husband's sexual signs...This is how I changed him...I played the right cards at the right time...This was my secret...However, I definitely do agree that a sexually inactive man or woman must masturbate so that they don't lose this yearning for sexual want.....In addition, I believe they should add mutually masturbation to their foreplay....Man needs help...He is the one that suffers...He, IMO, needs to be stimulated as he ages by his partner/wife/lover, in order to retain his potency in the years to come....

Please understand, I do not speak from the knowledge of books ..I can only speak of what and who we are....I guess this is why I offered to help on this Forum...I am no scholar...No expert...No prior knowledge...Just plain woman.......

I guess more than anything that I don't believe that in many cases permanent ED has to be permanent ED....I guess this is why I am here...

I think Wolf needs to do a little more research on (Sexual Exhaustion) and one of the routes to that is over ejaculation.

I actually have done quite a bit of reading on the topic since you brought it up last time. I even consulted an old friend who specializes in sexual disorders because it brothered me that I had never heard of this. There are only two references I've found to Sexual Exhaustion. One is a condition that is popularly discussed on websites that sell "Herbal Enhancers". The other is neurasthenia, a psychological disorder coined by Beard, a guy who thought electroshock therapy was the cure for anxiety . The American Psychiatric Association discredited neurasthenia about 28 years ago as being being the symptoms of other existing disorders. Neither of these are tied to Masturbation. If there's something I'm not hearing about I'd appreciate more information.

Make sure you find Dr Lin his website and read all the documented cases he has over 10 years worth of them. He doesn't happen to be an actual doctor but he does have a PHD in mechanical engineering. I don't count all his theories to be 100% but they are pretty accurate. I would post the actual website here but they would ban me for spam.

Hey RealityTimes09
You seem to be handing out advice to people for their medical problems based on information from folks that aren't acutaul doctors a lot lately.

If you're experiencing an erectile issue, If you don't have a history of erectile issues, If you're not at an age were erection difficulty is normal, If you don't have health complications that affect erection such as obesity or Depression, then you should consult a medical professional that works day-in-and-day-out resolving issues like yours. Even if you're taking medications with possible side effects your doctor may be able to change prescriptions to give you a better quality of life.

Your not a doctor either wolf and I'm sure the poster has the intelligence to ask a doctor and dosn't need you to lead him by the hand to do so after all he stated that he was 29 years of age. Why is it that whenever a subject arises concerning masturbation on this site that the doctors on this site almost never have anything to say with questions going unanswered. Maybe you could get one to intervene here wolf so we could get things cleared up and clarified.
