Im 28 yr old male 5'10" 165 lbs and worked in a club for 2 and a 1/2 ys and succumbed to drinking excessively. Even to the point of drinkin for at most 7 days in a row at times with only a 4 day lapse. This caused me to have anxiety. i have slowed down on how much i drink and the goal is to only participate on the weekends at a low level. I have been having some upper abdominal pain that is more of an ache or hardly noticeable and is not consistent. I also have bad posture and scoleosis that has a tendency to lean me right and slouch when seated or playing piano which i do for a living. I find that it is "usually" not present when i wake up but as i think about it it turns on but goes away during activity or when im up walking around. This "ache" moves around especially depending on which position Im sleeping in, but is more frequently present during the day when im at rest and i find it then to be localized to my upper abdomen r side and lower back. My urine has also turned a dark orange but hadn't until my masuturbation frequency skyrocketed. My friend is a NP and tells me its more likely my posture and matress. Is he correct or has my drinking taken an exhaustive toll on my body. How resilient is the body to substances especially in my late 20's should i be successful at finding moderation and much less frequency??
Thanks

Drinking in moderation is always important, for both your current and future health. If you have trouble drinking only in moderation, you need to seriously think about whether you may be an alcoholic. It is important that you be honest with yourself about this. If you are an alcoholic, there are programs out there that can help you. Find a meeting in your area and start going regularly. You don't have to go it alone.

Whether or not the alcohol use is causing your pain, you need to be seen by a real doctor and get this checked out. If it is a posture issue, you may need physical therapy or a back brace to wear. You may also want to consider finding a better mattress, if the one you have isn't both comfortable and supportive (rock hard mattresses aren't better for your back, no matter what they used to say).

Good luck. I hope you get the help you need, if you need it, and relief from the pain soon.
