I did something really stupid in high
school and I walked in on my boyfriend
having sex with another girl. I didn't say
a word, I just got in my car and went
straight to Wal-Mart. I was completely
numb, and in my opinion stupid. I stole a
boxcutter and slit my wrists in the
parking lot. I sat in my car for awhile
and just waited. I started getting scared
and thinking what the hell did I do...i'm
gonna die soon so I drove to the hospital.
They had to repair my wrists and sew them
up but I couldnt leave the hospital. I had
to go to an impatient facility for several
weeks. I know and realize that this was a
completely stupid thing and even though I
had several cutting episodes before this
incident, it did realive stress in some
weird fashion..But anyways I have horrible
scars on my wrists that I am embarrassed
about, and I find myself wearing long
sleeves to hide them. Is there anyone out
there who has the same problem, and how do
you cope with it? I just want everyone to
know that I am completely over that. In my
opinion it is a stupid thing to do, and
suicide is a permanent solution to a
temporary problem.

I have some pretty severe scars, but none
on my wrist (or anywhere where ppl can
really "tell" what they are). My advice is
to wear a peice of jewlry, a watch a
fasionable sweat band, or osmething of the
like. Also, viatmin E is supposed to be
good with scars, as is sunlight/ tanning.
hope that helps!

I have pretty severe scars as well. I
used to cut myself on my upper thigh and
upper arm because I figured it'd always be
hidden by my tshirts and pants/shorts. I
guess I didn't stop to think about bathing
suits and about sleeveless dresses/tank
tops. Now when I go to the ocean, I
always go in in my shorts and a tshirt
because I really don't want to answer
questions and people to know.
Since yours are only on your wrists, I
would take aquachickola's advice and wear
bracelets/watches/wristbands. It will
help cover it up so you don't have to
answer any unwanted questions.
