I have been taking Errin for the past few months now. Ever since I have started taking it, I have been getting 2 to 3 periods a month! Now, for me, I think to myself "What's the use of taking birth control pills?" I set up a gyno appt. but I was just wanting to see if anyone else had this problem and if so what happened? Thanks!

Very common when you're new to the pill, but if it lasts longer than three months then you need to switch pills (better luck with the next one!).

Just explain any and all side effects you've been having and your doctor will know what pill to switch you to.

thanks!! I really appreciate it, it's been bugging me lately because I know a few people who had the same problem when they started taking the pill, it ended up that they had cysts (not sure about the spelling). as far as the side effects go, I am really glad to say that I have had none so far (within the past 2 months I have been taking it) other than the experience of more periods than usual. When I first started taking birth control pills in November of last year, my Dr. put me on ortho micronor, I was also having 2 periods a month with that one, then I got married and our insurance we got only covers generic and so they put me on Errin. So, from what you are saying, I am betting it must be from the switch of the pills maybe. Not too sure, I am still relatively new to the pill haha, only been taking them for about 6 months now. Thanks again!

Well having your period more than once a month is a negative side effect from the hormones in the pill.

So the switch sounds like it didn't really change things much, but you were on the wrong pill to begin with if you say you were also having 2 periods on on ortho mircronor.

Just tell your doctor-- because that's not how birth control pills are supposed to work. Think shorter, lighter periods once a month-- not two periods a month. Smile

Why would you think you are pregnant?

Continue taking your pills until you test positive. I've read that it will not affect your baby as long as you stop after a confirmed pregnancy.
