Over the past few months (well, since the end of May this year) I've been having problems with my penis. This isn't just a problem with erections, that's why I thought I'd post it here.

I have posted in the past about problems with my penis (from my last thread about this on June 8th):

Quote:
I'm 17 and I've been having some problems with my penis, on Sunday morning my penis began to 'fill up' as if to become erect, but it was still it's flaccid size, it just ballooned up.

This only lasted a few seconds and went away but it did it a few times, and started lasting longer. There where also a couple of small purple patches that appeared that looked like bruises, I ended up going to A&E to have it checked because it was very uncomfterble. I had it checked over but the doctor couldn't seem to see what the problem was, but he wasn't too concerned and told me to just go to my doctors about it.

So today I've been to the doctors and he was unable to work out what the problem was either, but has just did a blood test and said it might just fix itself on it's own.

It's been better today, it's felt quite tender and aching a lot, and it seems like it's slightly swollen, but I'm unable to get an erection.

The only thing I can think of is that I did injur my penis a while ago, back in august last year I'd knocked it and I'd had problems where sometimes it would hurt slightly when I had an erection if I pulled my forskin too much (I'm unable to pull my forskin right back because it's too tight) but this has gradually got better.

I also remember about a week ago I woke up because I think I'd hit my penis while turning over in bed, I didn't think much of it but since then I'd had the odd 'semi' erection that was very hard while in bed which was a bit unusual for me.

Thought I'd post it here since I'm worrying about it a lot and hope someone will have an idea about what could be wrong.

Since then I've had a circumcision (On July 21st) as my foreskin was tight and I was unable to pull it back at all, so they doctor believed this could be some sort of cause. I have had the same problem since then, but it was only minor compared to before and that problem hasn't seemed to come back for a few months now.

My current problem is that I've been going through phases where on a night I'd wake up every so often, and every time I woke up I'd have an erection, I feel like I have an erection almost all night and the only way I'm able to get rid of it is to get up and walk around, it sometimes almost feels slightly numb.

This will usually happen once or twice then for a few weeks or months I'll start having problems where I have phases where I'm unable to sit still because I feel like a pressure is going to my penis, it's incredibly uncomfortable and almost unbearable at times. Also, during these periods when I get an erection it seems like only the top of my penis actually goes hard, actually feeling like there's too much pressure there, but under my penis it stays soft for a while before I actually get a full erection.

The problem is that I'm terrified of getting an erection, because every time I get an erection on my own on purpose I get to a full erection but once it's there it feels like I have to hold back, as I feel anything I do will put far too much pressure on my penis. If I do let myself get an erection like that like normal once I've got a full erection I suddenly get like a 'jolt' of pressure that goes to, and the head of my penis balloons out almost like it's about to burst and then I instantly go back to being semi erect, with the head going completely soft. While I'm in bed and get an erection during the night it seems fine though.

During this time (only over the past couple of months it seems, although way back at the start of July I had problems with this too, but only for a little while) I was having problems urinating, I'd feel like I really need to go but as I got to the toilet then I couldn't, even if I still felt like I needed to go. Sometimes I just don't feel like going most of the day (from around the afternoon) then on a night before I go to bed I'll feel like I really need to go but cant. Sometimes after a few hours I'll eventually go, but sometimes I fall asleep and either wake up at 5am or something and go or not go until I wake up later on.

After a while if I don't have a phase of problems with erections during the night (they seem to happen at random) It gradually goes back to normal (although I've not tried getting an erection when it's gradually got better) but then I eventually have another night with these problems and it starts all over again.

I'm sorry if I've made this long and confusing, it really effects my concentration and I'm beginning to really worry. Not just about the problem itself but I've recently started University and it's made things very hard for me. I feel like I'm not able to go out and enjoy myself with my friends or do anything else other than just going and getting my work done, which can sometimes be a struggle. I've seen the Doctor twice since my circumcision about this, the first time he prescribed me some anti anti inflammatories, which had no effect. The second time I couldn't get an appointment with the same doctor and unfortunately this doctor didn't listen to me at all or care, he was just assessing how the circumcision had healed and ignored most of what I said, he just asked if I went to college, and said that they normally do tests for Chlamydia so go and have a test done there. Although he did then say he'll take a urine sample, and I'm still waiting on the results to that. Although I have already had a couple of urine samples done before.

I've started to think that I might never get this problem solved, and I honestly don't think I can take much more of it, it makes me incredibly depressed most days, I just feel like I can't do anything. I sometimes have to skip University because I get so tired from waking up all night or not being able to get to sleep for ages.

Hi! It certainly sounds like something a urologist should look at but it can be hard to find good doctors, if u live in the US theres an article in the NYtimes that might give you some pointers in your search for one http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/30/health/3 0find.html

If its hard to urinate when your not having an erection it might be something to do with the prostate and things in that area cause that and your description of feeling pressure in the head of the penis when erect sounds alot like the feeling you get when you squeez your prostate or its simply the tissue and skin of the penis that is tight and hasnt yet gotten used to the blood pressure but hopefully thats something that should go away on its own.
But find a specialist and dont give up,

Two things you could do until you find one is

1: always try to go to the bathroom often and before you go to sleep because even a semi-full bladder can be more than enough to start giving you a boner and

2: maybe try taking a beta-blocker(try beta-blockers first)or an antidepressant not to make you less depressed but to cause impotence there alot of drugs that cause impotence and prozac, zoloft etc they all have impotence as a side effect their also very easy to comeby just tell a doctor your feeling sad and they'll wright you a prescription on the spot, but that should be a last resort zoloft and other antidepressants all come with a higher suicide risk and never being able to have an erection might be very depressing.

Hope you find a good urologist, goodluck and remember Dont give up!
