Q: epilepsy and migrain headaches post head trauma

My girlfriend's daughter sustained a head injury 3 years ago. one year ago she started having migrain headaches. she has seen several doctors. one docto diagosed her w/ epilepsy. the headaches last several weeks and she usually ends up in er. is it common for a head injury to produce migrain headaches 2 years after the head trauma? i don't understand the dx of epilepsy either.
