My name is taka and I'm fourteen years old. I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and have suffered from six seizures in the past four months. I've been on medication to help, and have only had one minor seizure since being on medicine. I had to have emergency surgery when my doctor discovered I had a hematoma on the right side of my head. I'm really scared and I don't really know a lot about epilepsy or seizures. Can anyone offer some advice or anything?

Hello taka. My name is grace. What sort of seizures do you have? Do you go unconscious. Maybe you see a counciller to have someone to talk to. I do and I am alot older than you with 3 children. I live in australia. I am going to look up and see what a hematoma is. Anyone is always frightened when it comes too operations but your in the best hands and it will hopefully benefit you, as the medication is. What happened with the minor seizure? Usually if the medication is working doctors don,t operate. Don't be afraid too ask them or your mum or dad why they need too and what it is. If you know what it is a hematoma let me know. I am always thinking about it. Epilepsy that is. I feel I have too not get too stressed I can't get too puffed out or do too much. I feel like I am sharing my life with epilepsy that controls me. Except for the medications. I have complex partial seizures. I don't go out to it. I use to a long time ago when I first got them in my 20's. I haven't now for over a year. Go to the library or get the information on epilepsy on the computer and print it out. Read some of other peoples threads. Alot of them have them in their sleep and get up and break things and hurt themselves like bite through both sides of their tongues. They are on so many different ones. I feel it helps me feel better, for me, but I feel terrible for them. I am a member on another site if you would like to join. Its epilepsy foundation.com.au. My thought will be with you and goood luck.
