My sister just recently had a baby 3 weeks ago and 5 days after giving birth to her baby vaginally she had to have serious hemmrroid surgery. For the surgery she was given an epidural and later they discovered that she needed to receive a blood patch.Days later she was set to come home but one night she started seeing red flashing lights and had 2 seizures. The doctors originally claimed it was eclampsia and she was kept in ICU for 2 days and given magnesium. Now 2 weeks later they have ruled out the eclampsia and she is taking Dilantin to keep her from having more seizures. No one has given my family or my sister clear answers on what this could be and we are very worried. She has visited the E.R several times since her release from the hospital and her levels have constantly been low. She has NO history of seizures and she is a very healthy 21 year old young woman. Can you please help me out on a diagnosis for her condition? My family and I are desperate and we want to see my sister back healthy again and raising her newborn son.
