Hi I'm suffering from enlarged tonsils for over a month now. I originally went into the doctors office after the first week. I received a strep throat test which came back negative. I waited another week and went back to visit the doctor. This time he gave me a 10 day course of penicillin. After the course was done my tonsils weren't much better. When I drink alcoholic beverages, it seems to get worse ( I don't drink them anymore). Its been another two weeks and its not any better. Both are enlarged but one seems to be much more enlarged than the other. You can visibly see the massive crypts on the right tonsil but none of them have any build up (stones) in them.

I was wondering what my options are? What it could possibly be? In my web research, I've narrowed it down to Mono, Lymphoma, HIV, or hepatitis. Is this accurate?

I can't rule out hiv or hepatitis. I have had unprotected sex twice before. The girl who was not a sex worker or anything said she was clean. But naturally I always fear the worst scenario (maybe she doesn't know she has it).

Anyways, I was wondering what blood tests I should have done and likely causes of the enlarged tonsils.

Some other symptoms include:
Sinus (inflamed but went away after an amoxicillin course.)
Eyes (mucous discharge in eyes especially when I wake up)
itchiness (all over body but not severe or anything)
post nasal drip
muscle soreness (minor)
fatigue (minor)
