can one have an enlarged spleen even if there are no symptoms. The is NO pain while perform vigorous activities. There is NO feeling of "fullness". There is no loss of appetite. Upon the initial dx from an ER doc., then was no signs of spleen swelling through a physical examination. The only reason that there might be any concern is that it usually takes about 4 weeks to recover AND about 10-15% are saddled with an enlarged spleen. My son had been dx on 12/22/08 with strep then 12/24 mono but has recovered in less than 2 weeks where he is performing vigorously. This leads me to believe he may have had the mono one or two weeks prior to the strep and maybe the strep prolonged the mono.Does this make any sense.
