Hi,
Just because you have endo doesn't mean that you have to have a hysterectomy. I have quite extensive endo and was diagnoses a few years ago. I'm now 24. I have two children at the moment. There a few things you can try before you have to got for something as serious as an operation like that. You can try certain contraceptive pills or and IUD. The merina coil is the best one for helping treat the symptoms and the growth of endometriosis. It is coated in a hormon that slows down the growth of the cells therefor slowing or stopping the growth whilst it is in situ. And of course the merina is a contraceptive too so if you dont want to have children just yet then that can of course help.
The next road is surgery, you can have a lazer abolition of of the lesions depending on where they are.
You have so many choices, so discuss them with your doctor before deciding on condemning yourself to surgery, after all they will only remove your womb in most cases and its the hormones released by the ovary that causes the endometrium to grow, so you may never be symptom free anyway.
I hope that has helped a little.
