Hello, my name is Mili. I just finished 8 weeks of my pregnancy today from first day of last LMP(26th july). However, my doctor couldn't find any embryo in the sac after 6 weeks ultrasound, 7 weeks ultrasound, and 7 weeks and 5 days ultrasound. However, my beta hcg was 256 after 4 weeks, 2886 after 5 weeks, and 16000 after 7 weeks and 4 days. He had told me to start progesterone suppositories from 10th August and I had continued that till friday, 18th september. He says that i should go ahead and take cytotec to abort the pregnancy, however, I haven't had any bleeding after stopping the progesterone for almost three days. Should I wait another week and get another beta hcg test done meanwhile, or go ahead and take the cytotec? Also, I don't understand why they count the pregnancy period from first day of last LMP. Doesn't pregancy start when conception occurs, i.e. when egg and sperm meet? So, technically I just finished 6 weeks of pregnancy.
hi my name is heather.. i had the same propblem. my hormones were way high and they couldnt find a embryo in my sac.. they tried having me abort and i decided to wait it out and see if anything changed and now i have a 3 yr old.. he was 8lbs.. if i would have taken that pill to abort i would not have my son right now.. if you have any questions you can write me.
I just found out the same thing, and am so shocked I dont know what to do.Ive never even heard of it before. I have no idea what to do, the gynae says the chances of the embrio apearing is null, please message me
Dear Heather - I have been told today at 8 weeks but 6 from conception that I have an empty sac and next week need to decide on the final scan what to do - I am devastated - but taken great hope from your story - I just dont understand how this can be as I am so pregnant in all bar the scanned evidence - I have two children from previous relationship and had no problems with either - yet the dr's were so certain today - I would be interested to know if you had a second opinion or at what stage they did detect anything? Thank you for your post Claire
