Q: Ejaculating inside, while on the pill

My girlfriend is now on the pill named/branded Althea.
She was prescribed by her doctor due to her prolong menstruation.

It is supposedly a contraceptive pill. I was wondering, while on the pill, is it safe to ejaculate inside?

Althea is a 21-cycle birth-control pill. Althea can effectively protect you and your girlfriend from an unplanned pregnancy if she takes the pill daily without mistake. You should wait to have unprotected sex (and ejaculate inside her) for a couple of months after she's been taking the pill. Until then, you should use a condom during sex to prevent pregnancy. The pull-out method is not a reliable method for birth control.

a couple of months??? really? i was sure that you were just as protected if you had taken the pill for 7 days, one full week of active pills...??? I personally waited one month just to be super safe but I was told I was protected after just a week on the pill(though the first month of spotting kind of put a damper on things anyway haha)

my doctor told me that as soon as you take the pill, you're protected. i didnt have sex until about 3 months after i started taking the pill. my boyfriend usually ejaculated inside, and i never got pregnant. probably wait a week, and then indulge! Smile

i think it is effective as soon as you take it only if you begin it with the start of your period...otherwise if you start it any other time you need to wait 7 days...

I take my pill everyday but not at exactly the same time. Am I still protected if there is a possibility he went inside of me?

It lowers the effectiveness when you don't take it correctly. How far off are you from taking your pill on time every day?

It is possible to get pregnant if you have unprotected sex during the month your not taking them. If ur not taking them then ur not protected if you have unprotected sex.

If you don't want to be a father its well worth the wait tokep using condoms. Think of it this way, would ejaculating inside of her be worth unwanted unplanned parenthood?

Straight answer!
ANY type of oral birth control takes a week to start working to prevent unplanned pregnancy. If you take it on your first day of your period it STILL takes a week. Your body does take a few months to adjust to the pill. Weight gain, spotting, headaches, bloating, yadayadayada. They are all normal so don't worry! I hope this helps because a lot of these posts are giving wrong information. When you get your birth control from your doctor, drill them! Haha no question is a bad question when it comes to your health!

if you are no longer taking birth control pills, no he cannot ejaculate inside you!
once you stop using birth control correctly and effectively you are not protected at all.

as long as you are sure that your not pregnant you can start taking pills even if your not having your period. i've tried that already and it works. How much is the Althea?
