My wife almost died from meningitis about 3-4 year ago. After 17 years of very happy marriage with only the normal disagreements of parents and partners, She just a few months ago started being extremely agitated, anxious, and couldn't stay in the house with me and our 15 yr old daughter. She has filed for divorce. She was just diagnosed as being in full menopause after filing for divorce, so must have been in this for a while. Before Nov.1 08, I noticed no changed from the previous 18 years. After knowing that she was in full menopause, I can now remember many other things that would attribute to her actions. She denies symptoms and that any of this has anything to do with her sudden decision for divorce. She was also molested as a child, had an attempted sexual attack (6 yrs ago), hysterectomy (4 yr age), severe meningitis (3 1/2 yr ago), and now menopause. She has isolated herself from having to talk about any of this with friends, family,or even doctors and therapists. Sre there any neg. affects of menopause with menengitis?
