I was 6 weeks pregnant when i inserted 600mcg of misoprostol vaginally and took in 600mcg of misoprostol orally, there was no cramps or bleeding.I went for a scan again and was told am now 7 weeks pregnant and have a live single fetus.Am worried the previous misoprostol i used might av an effect on my baby in the future, what should i do
Misoprostol if taken when pregnant and did not cause termination of pregnancy may cause damaging effects on the growing fetus.Though it cannot be predicted whether the effects would be present or not but possibility is there.
You need to discuss with the Gynaecologist regarding this and also if the pregnancy should be continued or not.It requires a detailed examination and investigations and cannot be commented without examination.

hi mike.. I just want to share my experience. I took 4nos of cytotec (200mg/each) vaginally & 3nos orally during my 7weeks of pregnancy and bleeding lightly a whole day then stop on the next day. i repeated it again with same dosage after 3days & lightly blood discharge about 3-4hours. 2weeks later i went to see doctor and found out my baby is still there in 11weeks. in my 13weeks pregnancy i inserted 6nos vaginally & 6nos orally. still bleeding lightly a whole day. I am very regret what I had done to my baby and decided to keep my baby, and went to monthly pre-natal check up as normally. I gave birth my baby boy on last october 2013, and he is normal. he grow up actively + healthy until now, and never had jaundice. so, please keep the baby. I believe the cytotec will not affect to her baby.. just shared. tqvm
