So you need to know basically 3 things: effects of chancroid on the CNS, the urinary system, or the lymphatic system.
Chancroid causes inflammation and swelling of the lymph nodes of the groin. They become pus-filled swellings or buboes, which can enlarge until they burst through the skin. Once they burst, they keep draining continuously, remain open, and can become infected by other bacteria.
Since the lesions of chancroid grow close to the vagina and labia in women and the penis in men, it can result in a urethral fistula which runs near by.
Patients with chancroid can also be affected by syphilis, HIV, and genital herpes, of which syphilis can affect the brain and nervous system. Otherwise chancroid does not have a direct effect on the nervous system.
Hope this helps. Take care!
