what should i do, if i have an earlier period? should i wear the patch on the "free" week, or wait up until it was supposed to be?

It's simple. Just wait seven days, and if you still haven't stopped, put your new patch on anyway. After a while, your menstrual cycle will become more regular. It is normal to have a crazy cycle when you first start the patch.
