Ok, Let me give you a little history lesson first.

When you are on the pill, your body gets use to not having to produce hormones because you are putting them there. Just so you know for next time, if you decide to stop taking the pill, finsh out the pack, don't just stop in the middle of the pack or after taking a couple of pills.. you will get your period.. duh! lol

The reason you get a period on the pill (and naturally in the body) is because the hormones in the body and in the pill are signals telling your body to wait to have a period. When you are on the pill and you get to the inactive period week, there are no hormones in those pills. This causes a sudden drop in hormone levels in the body. This sudden drop is a signal for the body to let that period flow! This is also why people who aren't on the pill have periods... it's all due to hormone levels.

Anyway, now that you know why the pill prevents periods and they the inactive pills cause periods I will answer your question. You started adding hormones into your body and then suddenly stopped. The hormone levels in your body suddenly dropped and caused a period. It is normal. If you are trying to have a baby, just stay off the pill. You maybe have a couple of random periods for the next couple of months, but that is just your body's way of trying adjust.

I hope that was clear. Good luck!

ok, so i have a slightly different issue. i was on the pill for 3 years. before i started taking the pill, i had a very regular 28 day cycle. when i went on the pill, nothing changed. i went off the pill two months ago. i finished my pack and didn't start a new one. last month, my period was a day early (which i didn't think was a big deal). this time, it was 4 days early. that's weird for me because right from the time i got my first period ever, i've had a 28 day cycle. why is this happening? We are also TTC, so this makes it more difficult for me to predict my ovuation.

Early Period?
Okay so i need some help on this one because my obgyn office is closed!

I've been taking BC pills for about 4 months now.. Decembers pack got all messed up so i stopped short a week before i was suppose to get my period & plus i was sick with the flu for 5 days. I wasn't suppose to get my period until next friday (today is jan 2 14) but this morning i felt intense cramping and a lot of blood as if my period just came out of no where. It hasn't been a full 24 hours yet im still tracking it but i've also had un-protected sex december 24th & January 1st. I don't know if this is a period or not. & i was fertile the 22-26 and ovulation was 27th of december.
