I have been on ortho-tri-cylcen since mid-march and have had no problems (period comes when I'm taking the placebo) but just this month I began bleeding, lightly, about a week and a half before I am supposed to start taking the placebo. I have kept taking my pills as usual but am concerned whether or not I am still being protected by the pill and if this is normal.

Thanks

I had the same thing on the generic brand ortho-tri-cyclen, I had protected sex too on June 20th, I started having menstrual symptoms that day too. She assured me that I was protected even though I was spotting. I do not know what it is but that pill did not work for me, I started my Junel Fe 28 today, so we'll see how that goes.

So, I should still be protected even though I'm spotting?

That's what my doctor told me, she told me it was still working even though I was having all this bleeding.
