The earache that I have suffered from for the past year has been attributed to acid indigestion. Yes, I suffer from indigestion occasionally but not to a great extent. I can find no information anywhere (NHSdirect for example) on this problem, and all attempts to cure the problem have failed - ear syringing; antibotics; 30mg Lanoprazole daily reducing to 15mg; Ranitidine; Beconase Nasal Spray.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

hi and welcome. Im a supporter and have researched and like you can,t find how this is linked to indegestion?

have you been checked for otis media ?
labrynthitis?
have you ever went for second opinion? as this must be painful to suffer which would make me think its inner ear rather than outer.

what were your symptoms when it first started did you have vertigo or dizzyness feeling sick?
sorry its not much help but i don,t mind researching further if i knew your previous onset of ear trouble when it started.

Earache/neck pain attributed to acid indigestion

I have suffered from earache and neck pain (something to do with the Eustachian tube I imagine) since June 2008, which has been attributed to stomach acid rising. I have suffered from acid indigestion on occasions but it is not a problem. 30 mg Lansoprazole daily reducing to 15 mg failed to make a difference; my GP appears at a loss and I am about to request a second Consultant opinion but would be interested to hear if there are other sufferers
