Hello. I hope you can help me. I had endoscopic sinus surgery with synoplasty on Thursday March 26th. By that Saturday, I started experiencing bad pressure in my ears. I felt like I was under water. This made me extremely anxious, as it is a very uncomfortable feeling, and I wasn't expecting it. I went to my doctor first thing monday morning and he said that due to extreme swelling, but ears had become full of fluid. It wasn't common, but nothing to worry about, that the swelling would go down and then my ears would be better. He told me to take Sudafed, and put me on a 6 day dose of prednisone. Over the next few days I felt better. The feeling never complelely went away, but it took the edge off.

Thursday I went back in to have my stints removed. That went well and they cleaned out my sinuses with the suction. But ever sense then my ears have gotten progressively worse. The sudafed isn't working anymore.

I guess more than anything I am just wondering if this is normal, and if so, about how long it will last. Is it comepletely due to the swelling? My nose is amazingly clear, so I don't think it is due to congestion.

I am a very anxious person by nature. I have to have a schedule. I can handle most anything if I know what is going on, but not knowing how long this can/will last is driving me crazy. I can sleep, and my stomach is in a knot. Could my doctor perscribe me something for anxiety while we wait it out? Could he perscribe another round of prednisone? Should I continue with the sudafed?

These are all questions I have. My doctor is out of the office today and tomorrow, and they won't let me talk to another doctor there.

Thanks
