Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Forum - Ear popping after infection

I have a really bad ear infection and I was told by one doctor that I had a torn ear drum but my family doctor said it was just a bad infection. I have been on antibiotics twice for this and had my ears washed out twice as well. I am now experiencing popping sounds in my ear when I yawn or blow my nose. Is this normal, does it mean that the infection is starting to clear up?
