Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone else has this lovely disease, I know many women have it! A lot of women in my family have suffered from it. Also I was wondering if anyone had any good advice for me on how to keep it under control and maybe even get rid of this problem. My doctor suggested I try and loose weight but I am happy with the weight I am, I am not over weight at all so I am not sure why he would even suggest it.
I am afraid that one day when I try to have children this will get in the way and I won't be able to reproduce. This scares me a lot because if I do plan on having children with the man I am with now I can already see us having a problem. I have Dytistic Ovarian Disease and he has varicose veins in his scrotum? I think that is what it is called but it does cause infertility. We have received quite the scare this year with a baby but it resulted in a miscarriage around my 19th week mark. I am just scared that this will continue you happening. Blah also I know I am really young to be thinking about this but please don't judge me I am a women as all of you are. I deserve the right to hope.

Hmm, still no one. Darnit. Well maybe more information might help I am 18 years old and I have been sexually active since I was 17 years old. The women on my Mother side of the family have either the same or similar problem as I do.

We all have had problems with our menstrual cycle it is always late unless we are on birth control to regulate ourselves. I have very strong periods they come in with a bang and end with a bang and its none stop for 5 to 7 days. I am not sure of how long my cycle is because I am always so messed up I cannot keep track. I am on birth control (Marvalon28) So I supposes my cycle is 28 days? Even then I have no idea. I do try to take my pill as recommended the same time everyday, although it was extremely hard to do.

I just found that I had this disease in March of 2008. This was after I had my miscarriage (Yes I know silly mistake only 18 bad idea for un-protected sex, silly thing is I got pregnant while I was on my pill. Have no idea how it happened but it did. Sh*t Happens) I found out that this was the reasoning behind my miscarriage also.

I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light onto me, maybe reassure me what miscarrying won't happen later in life? Maybe this is just temporary? I'm just a teenager but I know what I want for the future and it involves children and I hope to he*l that they are my own children.

Even if you are unsure of things I could do to help myself just maybe post a reply to help me cope with myself always looking down thinking I'm never going to achieve a part of my dream.

Thank you so much for your time and having to read my long posts. I am very sorry.

I am not too sure what PCOS is? when I scroll over what you had typed it says something about infertility. I am not so much worried about that issue I know that I am fertile now, I was tested. I am only 18 so the chances of me getting now are higher then when I get older as the doctor had told me. I am worried about my issue with my ovaries maybe getting in the way of staying fertile in the future. I would love to know maybe of a way I can help ease this problem away? Wishful thinking?

I have Dytistic Ovarian Disease, which is many little cysts in my ovaries if you didn't know. It is usual for women to be infertile while having these but there are times while they cysts do clear up and make you able to get pregnant. I am not looking to become pregnant now but I do want a family of my own in the future. I was looking for different ways to help me become free of this disease. I hope someone can help me.

PCOS stands for polycystic ovarian syndrome. Women with PCOS can have high levels of male hormones, irregular or no periods and small ovarian cysts. IT sounds like this might be what you're talking about. Dytistic Ovarian Disease doesn't appear in a normal Google search, so I think that you might have the term wrong.

So, if you DO have PCOS you can generally get pregnant with the right surgical or medical treatments. Pregnancies are usually normal for women with PCOS. I know that you are looking to do this after some time.

Medications are used to treat the SYMPTOMS of polycystic ovary disease but do not totally make the condition go away. These medications include:

* Birth control pills
* Clomiphene citrate
* Flutamide
* Spironolactone

I'd suggest you read and research information here at the NIH I think that it will help you to learn more about the condition.

Hey Rooted,

I had a doctors appointment this morning, I did read your message before I went. I asked about it and turns out I was mixing two different problems into one. It is PCOS that I have. Dytisic, Polycystic sounds the same I think lol. Hm this would be why I am not receiving any post! I definitely made myself seem like a bit of an woohoo. I am very sorry for making this mistake. The information you gave me was some what as what my doctor had given me. Thank you very much for your help!

You have eased my mind a much as it can be eased!
