Q: Dyspareunia and endometriosis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 1st, 2009
i have been diagnosed with endometriosis and pcos. my husband and i have been trying to get pregnant for two years. i have had surgery to remove the endo, and was on clomid for quite awhile, but stopped because i could not take the side effects of the pcos any longer. had really bad acne, weight gain, etc. after a little break of being on the pill i am back on clomid. this is my first month, and have no acne on my face at least (thank god for proactive). on day 12 of my cyle, i started to feel really bad cramps that lasted until day 16 (today, still swollen and sore, just not as bad). had sex day 12 morning, and again day 15 night. it was very painful!!! i am assuming that the pain is ovulation pain, and was wondering when during the "hurting" time am i actually ovulating? i could not bring myself to have sex on day 14 because i hurt SO much, and was wondering if i missed my chance. my breasts and nipples started to feel sore day 15 also. does that mean that i am not preg?

Dyspareunia is a painful sexual intercourse. It is one of the many symptoms of endometriosis. You might want to visit your gynecologist and check your genital organs for the present condition about endometriosis.

According to the information you provided it can not be determined whether you are pregnant or not. a physical examination by a gynecologist, laboratory tests and/or a pelvic ultrasound might be needed in order to confirm or rule out pregnancy.
