I don't know if you can eat anything or avoid anything to save your child from what you went through. However, I do know Dyslexia is partly genetic. I also know as a person who grew up with Dyslexia that there is help out there for children. When you have ur baby, get it tested young like 3 or 4. DO this because in young children with dyslexia they can sometimes rework, through special types of brain exercises and play, that child's brain to process reading in the left side of the brain like everyone else. I had this done to me at age 7 & it made a world of difference. I still have some dyslexia problems but I was able to go through school with almost no problems because of it. I still have problems writing papers and with directions but It doesn't hinder my life that much. What I'm trying to say is do research. Talk to doctors and when that child is 3 get it tested. Dyslexia doesn't go away but special therapy can retrain the brain and erase most of the problems dyslexia causes. The sooner you know the sooner you can teach your child strategies to combat dyslexia and get help.
