Dyslexia a Gift

Why would you want to be like the crowd!! I am dyslexic so is Richard Branson, Orlando Bloom, Whoopi Goldberg, Einstein & many other famous people who used their gift to be different & not con sunny form or try to fit in & be like everyone else!

I am a Registered Nurse & believe me that was no easy road but I wanted to fit in & be like others but I'm not like others I am unique!

Still can't spell but don't care! What is it with society that they think we need to be trained to be like everyone else!

Don't undersell yourself! Use your uniqueness to shine!

Im 26, diagnosed at 4 or 5 and have learned to adapt with the challenges. I see the world as If through a mirror or at least thats how i explain it. Couldn't readp until grade 4 or 5, and still struggle with times tables lol but has made my life interesting and I still every once in a while hole punch the wrong side of a page or check my lefts and rights and consider how to spell bed lol...

Someone who works with dyslexics in higher education noted that they struggle till they get to PhD level and then they soar. The reason is that at that level, it's all about original thought, not doing things by the book and colouring inside the lines.

I'm 60, and I've never been able to hold down a proper job because I can't work to structures, but I made myself a life doing creative work. Always been poor but happy because I didn't have to struggle to fit into other people's ideas of how I should work.
