Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy breakthroughs ?

I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and have kept up through the years with the latest research. I am aware of several exciting potential breakthroughs that are going to move into clinical trials soon. I know this would be great for younger kids with this condition, but I'm wondering what it will do for older patients like myself who are wheelchair-bound and ventilator dependent. I don't want to get too excited thinking that it can return me to a completely normal condition.
