Q: Drinking with Epilepsy

Hello, I very much need an answer because my doctor will not give me a straight answer. I'm currently on Lamictal (800mg a day) and Zonegran (200mg a day) and I'm a college student so I tend to drink. I've never had a seizure while consuming alcohol but im terrified when doing so. I've read that drinking one night can cause a seizure several days or moths later, but I have been drinking with epilepsy for roughly 6 years and have had only three seizures (all in one day) last summer. So heres my question...

Were those seizures really brought on by alcohol from years a go? or just because I have the disease? How common is it for the side effects to enhance? Is that a good warning of a seizure about to happen???

Please I very much need to know asap! Maybe even stories would helpl too.

Thanks
FiOBaby

I was also told to be careful. Not just becouse of the epilepsy but becouse of the medication that i use to help control the seizures. Alot of the epilepsy meds cause liver damage and that is why alot of us have to have blood work done once a month. Alcohol also works on the liver and can damage the liver. So if you take meds that damage the liver and drink alot your liver can be damaged twice as much than if you where just on meds or just drink. Be careful you only have one liver!
