Q: Drinking to relax

Im a 25 year old biracial female and i think i may have a problem. Unless i heavily drink or take some kind of pills, I'm very on edge and snap at any given time, especially at night. I wait all day and even count down the hours until I can drink at night, so I can relax and not be on edge. I went from being a light drinker to drinking hard whiskey and other other hard alcohol or prescription pills. When I'm drinking or high on pills, is the only time I feel relaxed. I have distanced myself from my fiance and I dont know what to do

drinking to relax
I got sober by going to AA. I didn't want to go but I am glad I did. Iwas 19 then and have not drank in 29 years. Also I feel better and am able to help others. I suggest going to different meetings. I think you will find what you like.

Good luck.

God Bless.

Carl

You could also try and figure out what it is that is making you so anxious. It could be the pills you are taking or stresses you have in your life. Are there unresloved issues in your life? Maybe you need to go and talk to someone like a psychologist to help you sort it out. Or even to your gp ti find out about the side effects of the pills your taking.
