Dried skin of vagina flakes off

My problem is as stated. The problem area is right above the actual beginnings of my vagina, where my clitoris is [not on my pubic bone though]. It's where most of my pubic hair gathers, which I keep trimmed regular [in case it matters at all, to say]. The issue is the the skin has begun to dry out and either flake off or lift up enough that it makes for easy removal. The problem is that what is left behind are very small but noticeable cuts that are rather shallow but spot with blood if I've just peeled a tiny piece of dried skin off.

There is a rare but quite annoying itching and burning sensation in this area. Again, which is only rarely ever happening. I can't say for sure if it is a yeast infection as I have yet to visit a doctor [no insurance] but I am beginning to grow so annoyed that I am willing to pay up the cash and time if I can't get it cured.

I'd prefer a over-the-counter remedy if possible though. [Much cheaper, you see. I'm a rather broke student.]
