recently i took an extra pill one day because i was not sure if my pill was absorbed (i threw up about an hour after i took the first one, so i took another)
does this mean that i am still protected? even for the rest of my cycle? also during my placebo week?

thank you very much

From my experience you should be protected. Although, you will be one pill short before your placebos. Most birth controls say that one is at a risk for 7 days if they skip a pill, however, you will be on your period, so it won't matter.

I think it would be a good idea to use a back up method for your placebo week and until you're a week into your active pills.

Either that or just skip the placebo pills and start on with your new pack.

But extending/moving your placebo week is not a good idea. Your cycle isn't the same as when you're not on birth control pills and its hard to guess when your hormone levels will change enough to ovulate. Might as well just be safe about it.

Are you still getting sick from your pills?

thank you for all your help!
no, i'm not really getting sick anymore, my pills are working a lot better i think.

i am just confused because i have read that if you vomit you should consider the pill missed and then take another pill to stay protected. i thought this would mean you are still protected for the rest of your cycle since you did not let your hormone levels drop, but maybe since i shortened my active days by one day that would mean i'm not protected during the placebo week?

just to be safe i plan on using back-up for the rest of my placebo week and first 7 days of my next pack.

also, i'm a little worried because my withdrawal bleed is very light this cycle. it started heavy in the morning and pretty much staggered off all day. i had bad cramps and back ache but pretty much only spotting and brownish blood. should i be concerned?
