Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Sperms once released, can stay alive for 3-5 days inside you and egg once released from ovary, can stay alive for 6-7 days. If you were during your fertile days at the time of your sexual contact, chances of pregnancy is possible. If you were worried and not ready for pregnancy, you should have considered taking emergency contraceptive within 24-48 hours of the unprotected sexual contact to prevent pregnancy. Wait and watch for your next periods. If pregnancy is suspected, look out for development of any other new symptoms suggestive of pregnancy. If you do not get your periods within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you develop any new symptoms, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, you should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). If pregnancy gets ruled out, and if you are not ready for pregnancy, but intend to remain sexually active, you should consider visiting your gynecologist to get started on suitable regular birth control measures to be protected (after your periods) as well as regulate your periods. Be regular with birth control use as instructed. Avoid having unprotected sexual contact. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
