There are probably some things that they could tell. Others, clearly that they could not. The one thing, is they could pretty much tell if a girl had definitely not had vaginal sex if the hymen had not been torn. The opposite could not necessarily be the case since the hymen can be torn by a tampon or some other methodologies not related to sex.
