This is just my opinion, but I think its more of a dominance thing to make men feel powerful. Think about it, the guy who does this (1) is literally marking his territory and (2) has a partner submissive enough to allow it. I don't think it's a big deal. I had a boyfriend who liked to do it and I was fine with that. It got in my eye once and my eye was bloodshot for a few days, but other than that, it did not bother me.
